Welcome

Dear visitors,

Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine. Here, you will find information about our bilateral relations, which have developed significantly since Ukraine regained its independence in 1991, as well as practical information about the services provided by the Embassy.

Switzerland condemns Russia’s war against Ukraine in the strongest possible terms and has adopted the EU sanctions against Russia. For Switzerland, neutrality does not mean indifference. Supporting Ukraine and its reconstruction is of strategic importance.

Swiss international cooperation has been present in Ukraine for over 30 years. Today, the Ukraine Country Programme 2025–2028 provides 1.5 billion Swiss francs for our engagement, focusing on economic recovery, public services, the protection of the civilian population and support for a just and lasting peace. Humanitarian demining, digital transformation, greater involvement of the Swiss private sector in Ukraine’s recovery and monitoring human rights violations are just some examples of our work. They reflect our solidarity with the people of Ukraine – a solidarity also demonstrated by the Swiss population through exceptional private donations and by welcoming more than 125,000 people from Ukraine seeking protection in Switzerland.

Switzerland and Ukraine are both deeply attached to their history, independence and sovereignty, as well as to their culture and traditions. Both are also home to innovative and diverse societies with strong local identities. There is much we can learn from one another and many areas in which we can develop solutions together. It is a privilege for me to represent Switzerland in Ukraine at this important time in our bilateral relations. Together with my team, I strive every day to maintain and strengthen these bonds.
